Thinking abt the greatness that has come from computer sci people applying that kind of logic -- thinking in code -- to disaster, aid, infrastructure probs.
Wondering what kinds of solutions may come forward with energy moving from libraries and the management of computers + books + [people's finding and use of info in computers + books].
has its own sorts of implications. what abt libraries and info-science (as it specifically relates to managing the access of folks to the info -- no strictly or only the management of info itself as that would take us back to ) lends itself to durable, sustainable solutions?
on the other hand, library hierarchies aren't universally regarded as a hothouse for excellent leaders. they're regarded as bogged-down bureaucracies. this is a tough 40 year cycle, but if we come of this thing on our feet... it'll be good for a lot of people. specialists to lean on. not warehouses to get lost in..
